I like how you have identified the need in both homes to staying dry and having a roof and a floor for keeping warm. Well done.
It is interesting how you talk about the Pa having carvings on the outside. My home certainly doesn't have that. Why do you think Pa had carvings on them?
There would also be a lot of differences on the inside of the homes. They certainly did not have power/electricity back then. What sort of things use power in your home?
